Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before signing up.

Before you get started

Who runs this platform?

An independent private organisation based in French-speaking Switzerland. We are not an official body; we are a resource to help you prepare.

Is passing the exam guaranteed?

No, and any promise of success would be unlawful. Our platform improves your chances by simulating the actual exam conditions, but the final result depends on your own hard work.

I’m not sure which module to choose – could you help me?

Yes, please write to us describing your situation: what you’re currently doing, what you’d like to be able to advise on in the future, and whether you’ve already taken an exam. We’ll get back to you with a recommendation, with no obligation. A useful tip in the meantime: you must pass the ‘General Skills and Knowledge’ module before you can sit the other exams, so that’s always where you start.

Registration and payment

What happens after payment?

You create your account (using your date of birth as your initial password, which you can change later), and you’ll have immediate access to the modules you’ve purchased.

Can my employer make purchases on behalf of their advisors?

Yes, please contact us for a corporate package (discounted rates, dedicated account manager, consolidated support). We work with several brokerage firms in French-speaking Switzerland.

Using the platform

Can I access it from my phone?

Yes, the interface is responsive. For timed mock exams, however, a tablet or computer screen is still recommended for ease of reading.

Can I install Caelys as an app on my phone?

Yes. From your mobile browser, select ‘Add to Home Screen’: Caelys will be installed as an app, complete with its own icon, and will open in full-screen mode. There’s nothing to download from an app store, and the version is always kept up to date.

What happens if I close the page during a mock exam?

The timer continues to run: it is based on the server time, not your browser’s time. Closing the tab, losing your internet connection or switching devices won’t pause it – just like on the day of the exam. However, as long as there’s time left, you’ll be able to pick up your test where you left off, with your answers already saved.

Can I put a series on hold, or stop watching it?

No, there is no time-out. If the time runs out without you confirming your answers, the attempt is still recorded – based solely on the answers you entered before the deadline – and it counts towards your average just like any other attempt. This is intentional: if abandoning the attempt deleted it, you could simply quit any series that was going badly to maintain a good average, and your dashboard would no longer be of any use to you.

How do you know what to revise after a series?

At the end of each set of exercises, the answer key provides a detailed breakdown of your answers, and a personalised revision plan highlights the chapters you need to go over again, based on the mistakes you’ve actually made. Each reference takes you straight to the relevant page in the course material: you’ll know exactly what to revise, without having to search for it.

Does the ‘Random Mix’ quiz draw questions from all the modules?

Only in the modules you have access to. The Mix shuffles your own series to help you practise switching between topics; it never gives you access to content from a module you don’t have.

Your results and data

How long are my results kept on file?

Thirty days. After that, previous attempts are deleted and your average, progress and best score are recalculated based on the last thirty days. A successful attempt from six months ago says nothing about your current level: the dashboard shows where you are now, not where you were then.

Is my data private?

Yes. Each agent has their own password-protected area. No one other than you (and the supervising trainer) can view your history.
